What was the inspiration for your shop name?

I wanted the women who came to my shop to feel special – so Goddess – and the Fantasies – well I make fantasy clothing!

Speaking of inspiration, where do you draw yours from?

Out of the Universe – I have a butterfly mind – and something just goes PING! – I have made some things that my customers requested too … so a combination.

What first drew you to creating, and was it something you came to naturally? Any training in it?

I’m totally self taught in Photoshop elements but have always loved art, colour in particular is my love plus shapes and patterns … anything colourful attracts me – and I’ve always loved fairy stories . so ……….

Over time, your style has evolved and grown. How would you characterize where you’re at, from a design perspective today?

I would say I’m learning still – I don’t think you ever think you are good …….. self criticism is important and makes me try even harder.

What are some of your favorite pieces that you’ve created and why?

I love Dark Velvet – its just such a pretty gown – and also i love Rosamund – both of them – they are just so pretty and feminine . I also love the mer clothing – it looks really nice on…

Tell me about your hunt prize. With as little or as much detail as you want to give, how did you come to chose the design you went with?

Laughs – I decided to do something a bit off track .. so there is a gift with gifts inside – unisex all of them – so anyone can click and get 3 gifts – 3 inside the outer one… so 4 gifts in all ………. that sounds confusing – but my gift box is also a gift in its own right….

If you had to pick one item that showcases your talents best, and really tells the world who you are, what would it be and why?

I love Myreth one of my elven ones – its so pretty and looks fantastic on as well – I’m quite proud of it!

If this isn’t your first hunt, what drew you to them to begin with? What do you enjoy about them?

I love meeting new people and letting the world know that I am here and designing – it’s quite a lonely job in SL – specially if you aren’t part of a big mall .. but it is very satisfying when a customer says they love your stuff!

Some Time With Trina Stromfield

Trina Stromfield and I became acquainted during the What Love Creates enrollment period, and have developed not only a lasting friendship that touches our RL, but a successful business relationship that has led to FAR Hunt Group co-producing her wildly successful seasonal Chocolate Hunt series. It has been my pleasure to work alongside her, and to call her a true and dear friend.

Please give a round of applause for….Miss Trina Stromfield.

What was the inspiration for your shop name?

Well, not really, I was thinking about names, and was so lost, and I was eating a Jello Temptations. Kinda funny I know, but I figured something with temptations, well, unforgettable worked perfectly. So thats how my name came into play. :)

Speaking of inspiration, where do you draw yours from?

I draw mine from a lot, current styles, television music, you name it. I just have fun with it. Creation is all about fun, it never stops! Also other things that inspire me, well one is my fiance who plays SecondLife as well, he inspires all the mens clothing that I design. He has also named a few outfits for my girls line, Flokini being a bathing suit I designed, he named it haha. He’s into it as much as I am. :) I thank god for his brain cause sometimes I’m a tad overworked, and can’t think of a good name to save my life. *giggles*

What first drew you to creating, and was it something you came to naturally? Any training in it?

What first drew me into creation is an old friend, his name was Skeeve.

He quit SL less then a year ago and I miss him everyday. He ran and operated Rock Tease. He was the first person who I really talked to about creation. I then worked for Template Craze, and learned from Lapo (Lapo Mistwallow, a VIP) and Harmony, two of my very good friends. They gave me tips and hints, and what to do to learn. Well, I tried Soma, and didn’t like it, so I learned how to do things on my own. And practice has indeed made me perfect.

Over time, your style has evolved and grown. How would you characterize where you’re at, from a design perspective today?

Where I am at today, haha thats a hard one. From my own perspective, I feel like I have gotten better over time, that my designs show who I am, and what I want to wear in SecondLife. Its nothing like what I see as well. My boards are vibrant and my designs match. I feel like I can do anything I set my mind to.

What are some of your favorite pieces that you’ve created and why?

Wow, some of my favorite pieces, hmm let’s see. I really like quite a few, so its terribly hard to choose just one, but if I have to, I really like Sexy Plaid. its just so darn cute, from the hat to the matching shoes. I really enjoy that outfit. Why, is because the outfit has tons of details and its just awesome..:)

Tell me about your hunt prize. With as little or as much detail as you want to give, how did you come to chose the design you went with?

I don’t like to Jinx myself with hunt items, therefore my rule is not to talk about them whatsoever. It’s kinda like a surprise when you find the item. I will make a photo for a blog, but only a few days before the hunt does it go up. I like surprises :)

If you had to pick one item that showcases your talents best, and really tells the world who you are, what would it be and why?

Honestly, I think what showcases my talents best, is my newest outfit, Star and Lace. The alphas I added, and colors, matching perfectly show I’m a stickler for details. It tells the world I’m feminine and like a bit of class, at least thats what I want people to get out of it. Haha :)

If this isn’t your first hunt, what drew you to them to begin with? What do you enjoy about them?

I liked and was drawn to hunts because they were fun. They gave me a challenge. Something sort of like a goal. Some of the hunts I had to make items for, I had to learn how to make the items. Others it came naturally. Hunts will be a part of Unforgettable Temptations for a very long time!! :)

Meet Mattie Rae

When I first met Mattie Rae, she was a remarkable talent with a bad-tempered computer. Thanks to a generous creative community, Mattie ws saved from having to close up shop, and instead, went on to become a powerhouse in the texturing community and a generous soul, as well. I was personally very glad to recieve her appplication for the FAR Hunt Group, and even more thrilled when she elected to join the VIP program. It is now my pleasure to introduce to you, the phenomenal Mattie Rae.

1. What was the inspiration for your shop name?

Actually, my shop name has undergone a few changes since I first opened in March 2010. Initially I opened as Indigo Dreams but after a business partnership ended, I changed to Mattie Rae’s Indigo Dreams. As time went on, I realized most people referred to my shop simply as Mattie Rae’s so eventually I dropped the first part.

2. Speaking of inspiration, where do you draw yours from?

I have had a lifetime fascination with colour, pattern, texture…both textile and non-textile related. My textures are simply an extension into a new medium.

3. What first drew you to creating, and was it something you came to naturally? Any training in it?

From my very earliest days, I have been an artist and craftswoman. Professionally, I have owned a stained glass studio and worked as a graphic artist. From my first day in SL, I knew I wanted to become a builder / content creator of some sort. It didn’t take long to see that my love of pattern and color lended itself well to creating textures inworld.

4. Over time, your style has evolved and grown. How would you characterize where you’re at, from a design perspective today?

I’d say my that style has evolved somewhat but not in any large ways. I have always had a passion for florals and rich fabrics such as brocades. I have concentrated on those from the beginning. In the past two years, I have branched out into skins, furnishings, decor and photography but it has always been the textures that have remained constant. However, that building bug is kicking back in so I plan to add some non-texture items again in the future.

5. What are some of your favorite pieces that you’ve created and why?

I don’t know that I have any personal favorites; I’m usually sort of enamored with whatever I happen to be working on at the moment.

6. Tell me about your hunt prize. With as little or as much detail as you want to give, how did you come to chose the design you went with?

I decided to do something other than textures for this hunt, something that just seemed like the right thing to do for the theme.

7. If you had to pick one item that showcases your talents best, and really tells the world who you are, what would it be and why?

Again, I can’t say that I have any true personal favorite; all my textures are reflections of my love of pattern and color and design.

8. If this isn’t your first hunt, what drew you to them to begin with? What do you enjoy about them?

When I joined SL in March 2009, there was only one grid-wide hunt in progress. I was immediately hooked on hunting and found it to be a wonderful way to get to know the world of SL. It was during that hunt that

I found some of my favorite designers and was able to explore so much of the grid that I might not have otherwise found. Since then, I have participated in a number of hunts and hunt myself as often as possible.
